Vogue India

The first ever Vogue India hits newsstands today. There are so many stunning Bollywood women, I wonder why Gemma is on at all?

I'm happy that I'm not the only one that was thinking those thoughts about the Vogue India cover.

omg that cover looks amazing! and they probabaly wanted gemma on it so that people in india would recognize her from the others on the cover and pick it up. or so that people in other countries would recognize gemma and pick it up?

Ugh- get Gemma OFF!

How insulting that they would think the issue would only sell with a Western model on the front.

love ur blog!
ya i agree to ur observations. plus rehashing a last seasons' concept has become a standard for all international magazines in India.Nothing personal against Bharat Sikka, but Patrick DeMarcheliers' interpretaion of the 'waif in India' concept in Sept Vogue UK is much stronger in execution.
But no doubt Vogue has raised the bar for Indian Fashion Media :)

thank you thank you thank you! i've been so mad about this inaugural cover! She co-opted china, india and that one cover of paris vogue with her and du juan. it's a cop out and cultural imperialist! i love this bloG!!

think your blog name is cool...like that pic too. Abt the vogue cover, well I'm an indian, and I don't recall hating gemma on it, though might've preferred all indians....or maybe i don't really care...Now whether that's coz we indians are so tolerant or complacent...not sure. Was browsing online though and found that most people have found bipasha and priyanka on the cover quite stunning...Ok so there is tonnes of make-up and photoshop there too :)...like any other vogue...but hey, hurray to indian women & beauty .... not that all of us necessarily look like that :)...well who knows ...
